Frequently Asked Questions
about Gorett and her coaching style
How long have you been a Career and Life Coach and how did you get to be one?
I have been a Career and Life Coach for over 4 years now. Once I figured out I wanted to be a coach I took Dr. Martha Beck’s 10-month coach training program while I taught. Dr. Beck coached Oprah so I think enough said about her ability as a coach. Soon after my training, I got certified. That’s the formal answer, the informal one is that it seems I have been informally coaching most of my life.
Who are your clients exactly?
My clients range from actors to executives. They are professionals generally between 30 and 55 who want more out of their career and life. They are smart, committed and know with a little help they can get “back on track” or find a new path.
How are you different from other "Career and Life Coaches"?
In regards to career coaching, I take a very inside-out approach. Meaning I help people figure what they want to do or how they want to advance versus see what industries are hot right now and what personality test says what (an external approach). If you know what you do want, then we make a clear, actionable plan in order to achieve your goal as immediately and effectively as possible.
With career coaching, I infuse some life coaching, hence me being a Career and Life Coach. This said tangible steps and strategies are implemented as well i.e. asking for a promotion, negotiate pay, etc. My life coaching also takes a very inside-out approach and gets to the “heart of the matter” so one can dream, scheme, or make a plan, and take action. My life coaching mainly involves personal and relational work.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me as a coachee?
I work best with people who are open and committed. They are honest with themselves and me and take responsibility for their change. If we work together, I'll expect you to have these qualities. A sense of humour is a bonus. :)
What type of professional are my coaching packages NOT going to work for?
I am very selective and cherry-pick my clients. I do not sign up everyone who wants to work with me if a) I feel there is a serious incompatibility and b) I do not feel they would get the results they are looking for which would not be fair to them. Personality types my coaching does not work for are people who are not open, not honest, super negative and who are not committed to the process. Luckily, I haven’t encountered such clients because I am so selective.
What results can I expect?
Here are the recurring results my clients experience:
· career advancement
· clarity, direction, and focus
· more financial security
· better money mindset
· greater autonomy
· better boundaries and balance in your career and life (i.e. assertive and delegation skills)
· improved relationships
· improved interpersonal and communications skills
· more confidence, fulfillment and joy
· increased creativity and innovation
· acquire healthy and productive habits
Can I contact some of your former clients to see what it's like to work with you?
You cannot contact former clients because of our confidentiality agreement, however, you can check out some of their testimonials or read the reviews on my Facebook page. Facebook added a new feature where you can direct message the people who are okay to be public, however, they did not agree to be messaged when I asked for a review as it was not an option then.
How quickly can I expect results?
Again it depends on what you put into it, however; typically clients see results in the first month or two. This could be a major shift or steps toward an important goal.
How will we work together?
If we are compatible to work together then how we'll work together depends on the package you choose and its features. Your specific package will determine our communication and other details (all packages have calls and some packages offer video calls and in-person meeting in the Greater Toronto Area). Otherwise, we start with your goals and go from there. You receive the packages I offer as a part of the free 30-minute Get Acquainted Call when you sign up for one.
Do people ever renew?
Yes, it is common for clients to renew once a package ends, hence the maintenance package option.
How do you pay?
I accept all major credit cards and email-transfers.
If I'm not sure I'm ready to get started, how can I sample your work to see if it's the right solution for me?
OK, I'm ready to do this for myself, but I have a couple of additional questions.
Can I call you?
Absolutely. Congratulations for being an action taker and wanting more for your future! You can call me (it can be a phone call, video call or in-person meeting in Downtown or West Toronto) by booking a free 30-minute Get Acquainted call or you can email me at with your questions.
