Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been a Career and Life Coach and how did you get to be one?
I’ve been a Career and Life Coach for 6 years now. Once I figured out I wanted to be a coach, I took Dr. Martha Beck’s 10-month coach training program while I taught. Dr. Beck coached Oprah so I thought that said a lot about her ability as a coach. Soon after my training, I got certified. That’s the formal answer, the informal one is that it seems I have been informally coaching since I was 12 years old.
Who are your clients exactly?
My clients range from actors to executives, including entrepreneurs. They’re professionals generally between 30 and 55 who want more out of their career and life. They are smart, committed and know with a little help they can get “back on track” or find a new path.
How are you different from other "Career and Life Coaches"?
I’m different from other Career and Life Coaches because I have a great knack to get to the heart of the matter. Whether it’s a career issue or something else, I can quickly and easily determine the area that needs to be addressed and address it. Call it experience or intuition, however, I can usually tell what is blocking someone from achieving the happiness or success they want and help them take steps to unblock and get there.
I also take a very inside-out approach to my coaching so, in regard to career, I help people figure what they want to do or how they want to advance versus see what industries are hot right now and what personality test says what (an external approach). If you know what you do want, then we make a clear, actionable plan to achieve your goal as immediately and effectively as possible.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me as a coachee?
I work best with people who are open and committed. They're honest with themselves and me and take responsibility for their change. If we work together, I'll expect you to have these qualities. A sense of humour is a bonus. :)
What type of professional are my coaching packages NOT going to work for?
I’m selective about my clients. I don’t sign up everyone who wants to work with me because a) I feel we’re not compatible or b) I don’t feel I can genuinely help them.
Incompatible personality types are people who are not open, not honest, super negative and who are not committed to the process. Luckily, I haven’t encountered such clients because I am so selective.
What results can I expect?
Here are the recurring results my clients experience:
· career advancement
· clarity, direction, and focus
· more financial security
· better money mindset
· greater autonomy
· better boundaries and balance in your career and life (e.g., assertive and delegation skills)
· improved relationships
· improved interpersonal and communications skills
· more confidence, fulfillment, and joy
· increased creativity and innovation
· acquire healthy and productive habits
How quickly can I expect results?
Again, it depends on what you put into it, however; typically clients see results in the first month or two. This could be a major shift or steps toward an important goal.
How will we work together?
Our work together depends on the package you choose and its features. Your specific package will determine our communication and other details. Otherwise, we start with your goals and go from there.
Do people ever renew?
Yes, it is common for clients to renew once a package ends, hence the maintenance package option or other options.
How do you pay?
I accept email-transfers and all major credit cards.
